IGW Services

MTN is installing IGW to provide the international communications and connectivity between Myanmar and other foreign telecommunication companies. MTN’s IGW could encourage not only telecom operators but also for ISPs, telecom licensees and government departments to reach their requirement with high quality, reliable and flexible services.

Our IGW will be (1+1) system with fully back-up condition. It will be launched on October 2019. MTN will connect the international connectivity from Myawaddy-Maesaud cross border terrestrial FOC through Yangon-Paan-Myawaddy domestic OFC link in prior. Back-up connectivity will be from MPT’s Sea-Me-We cable. As of giving VSAT services to customers from MTN’s own satellite earth station which can provide international bandwidth for the emergency status.

MTN shall maintain redundant network connectivity to ensure resiliency of the international telecom services transiting through our IGW.

MTN is awarded to install multi-micro duct under-ground optic fiber cable (OFC) along the railway track of Yangon-Mawlamyaing-Dawei about 600 kilo-meters by Myanmar Railway (MR). It is now under processing. We have to install continuously OFC link from Dawei-Myitta-Hteekhee about 150 kilo-meters upto the Thailand cross-border. It will be one of the efficient cross-border terrestrial FOC link for the country. Of course this main link will be terminated to IGW, thus MTN can provide enormous international bandwidth to and from Myanmar.
